The Caribbean, a new dog paradise to adopt!

Do you already have dreamed to spend your holidays in a heavenly place surrounded by puppies all cute each other? If so, you should find your happiness on the beaches of the Turks and Caicos Islands, in the Caribbean.

Since 2005, the Potcake Place association directed by Jane Parket-Raw , has given itself the mission of to save the numerous stray dogs present on the territory. The Potcake is a dog resulting from a crossing of breeds between the Labrador, the German Shepherd and the Fox Terrier that can be found in the Caribbean. Its name comes from a rice mixture that the locals used to give to the dogs of the island. Potcakes are known to be loyal, affectionate and intelligent but also not to grow much and therefore keep their puppy appearance.

On the island, the association invites tourists to play and relax on the beach with these little dogs all day long. By offering travelers to take care of one (or more) puppy during the holidays, the goal is to socialize these hairballs and optimize their chances of being adopted later

Today Potcake Place has 50 to 70 dogs but no shelter on the island. The volunteers are therefore responsible for keeping the dogs at home before they find a family . "Our policy is to house them with us until they find the best house possible . This is the only solution we have for these dogs do not finish hungry in bushes, are not overturned by cars, voluntarily poisoned, sick or still euthanized " says Jane Parket-Raw

For 11 years , thanks to the association Potcake Place, 500 dogs find their future family every year and are adopted worldwide . The association is assisted by several veterinarians "to ensure that puppies are up-to-date with vaccinations, deworming, other treatments and that they have a travel health certificate." Potcake Place also ensures a place on the plane for the puppy and ensures to meet the future host family of it at the airport.

If you would like to adopt one of these puppies, make a donation or learn more about the association, we invite you to visit Facebook Potcake Place or on their website .
